Trips that have two price amounts listed: The lower price reflects an early sign-up discount. That is, if you sign up during the first few weeks that a trip is open you get the trip at the lower price. After the sign-up discount period expires the price goes to the higher amount which reflects the standard price for the trip. After the early sign-up discount expires only the higher price will be listed for the trip. For weekend trips the discount price is in effect for the first meeting that the trip opens. For major trips the discount price is in effect for first and second meetings (or any time in-between by mail).
If you cannot sign up for a trip in person then you may sign up by mail by contacting the trip leader. You are not signed up for the trip until you have submitted a sign-up sheet, a deposit and you are a member. You cannot sign up before any trip officially opens. A trip does not open until the meeting on the opening date. Therefore, you can not sign up by mail or phone until after the first night that the trip opens. You may contact a trip leader before opening night to inform them of your intention to sign up for a trip by mail but the trip leader cannot place you on the trip until the end of the first night. Trips with a waiting list mean you will be placed on a waiting list in the order that you signed up. Many people get on trips by being on a waiting list. There are always people that cancel. If you sign up for a trip and later cancel you will be charged a cancellation fee. This can amount from $50 up to any amount incurred by the club. You will not be charged a cancellation fee if you cancel while on a waiting list. All lodging is two to a room. You can pick a roommate or if you don't know anyone a roommate will be assigned to you - a new friend.
Each trip has an Article, an Information Form and a Sign-Up sheet listed under the date column of each trip. The Information Form gives the details of the trip. The sign-up sheets are for you to fill in your personal information to sign up for the trip. One standard form is for all major (long) trips and one is for all weekend trips. You will need a separate sign-up sheet for each trip you sign up for. You can fill in the sign-up sheet on your computer before prnting it out. You will keep the Information Form for yourself. You will turn in the Sign-Up Sheet. To save time you can have your paperwork done ahead of time by printing out the sheets. Tip: If you're signing up for more than one type of trip (such as 2 Major trips), print a copy of your sign-up sheet on your computer. For your second or third trip just change the information that pertains to the second and third trip and print that out. That way you won't have to fill in again all the personal information that is the same on each form.

If you are interested in becoming a Trip Leader or joining the Winter Trip Committee and assisting in the coordination of our winter trips, please contact Kathie Read, Winter Trip Chair at 856-356-2239. *To be Determined
A waiting list means that the trip is filled up and any future people that sign up are placed on the waiting list. Spaces always open up since there are always people that cancel. People get sick the last minute. People find out after they signed up that they have to work. There are deaths in the families. All sorts of things happen that make people cancel. When someone cancels, the trip leader goes to the next one on the waiting list. It is done strictly as first-come-first-serve on the waiting list. No one can be jumped over on the waiting list unless the next person declines the offer. The farther down on the waiting list you are the less likely you will get picked. As the departure date gets close any cancellations are unlikely to find replacements so if you are far down on the waiting list and you can decide the last minute to go then all others in front of you on the waiting list might decline since not many people can decide and plan the last minute for a trip. This might offer someone a space on the trip if they can go at the last minute. You must pay a deposit to sign up on the waiting list. You will get a full refund if you do not go on the trip from the waiting list. Sometimes they go through the entire waiting list and no one is available to fill the spot. In that case the trip may go up for auction as time runs out and someone that takes the spot can get a last-minute trip at a drastically reduced price. These auctions go out to the club as a mass e-mail to the membership.
