Kayaking the Wading River

Steve had to cancel last week's event because there were no kayaks available for rental. He has rescheduled to this Saturday at 10:00 AM. He has reserved 6 kayaks. Please contact him ASAP if you are planning on going so he can either reserve additional kayaks or release some that are reserved. His email is steven.umansky@yahoo.com or call him at 609-217-9357

By Steven Umansky

I will be leading a kayak trip on the Wading River on July 31st  out of Micks Pine Barrens Canoe and Kayak Rental.  We will take a 5.8 mile paddle from Hawkins Bridge to Evans Bridge for approximately 3 hours.  Micks also offers a 5 hour 10 mile trip from Hawkins Bridge to Beaver Branch for the same cost, so any die hard paddlers who want to can continue on to Beaver Branch if water levels permit.  There is a 4 hour trip on the Oswego but by the end of July water levels are usually too low.  If there is enough water we can decide then which river to take.
Those who are interested can meet up at Sweetwater Marina for refreshments after kayaking.
Prices are:
  • Single kayak  $50
  • Canoe of double kayak $70
  •  Transportation of private kayak $25
Meet at Micks between 9:00 and 9:30 for a 10:00 departure
Micks address is 3107 Route 563, Chatsworth, NJ
Please let me know if you are coming at least a week in advance so I can make reservations for the group.  My email is steven.umansky@yahoo.com
