FOR THE SERIOUS WINE CONNOISSEUR
(OR JUST FOR SERIOUS WINE DRINKERS!!)
CAPE MAY COUNTY WINE TASTING
Saturday, October 21st, 2017
Willow Creek Winery
Hawk Haven Vineyard and Winery
Join your fellow Fall Line wine enthusiasts on an adventure to the southern peninsula of New Jersey in Cape May County where some of the widest varieties of grapes are grown in all of New Jersey and where wineries produce some of the finest estate grown wines you find in the Outer Coastal Plain or even east of the Mississippi River!
We will depart the Hotel ML, in Mt. Laurel, NJ at 9:45am sharp in a comfortable Mini-Bus. Please arrive no later than 9:30am for check in and seating. It will take approximately 1 ½ hours to get to our first destination.
FIRST STOP - Willow Creek Winery, West Cape May, NJ
Here we will be treated to a private tasting where we will sit back in their comfortable couches while one of their well-versed wine educators walks us through five of their finest wines & sangrias. Relax in comfort as you learn about their signature 3 sip system that will be sure to enlighten your senses and change the way you look at hand crafted wines from their farm forever. After our tasting, we will be seated at tables and be able to order wines and specialty dishes from their tapas menu for lunch. Please note lunch is OYO.
SECOND STOP – Hawk Haven Vineyard and Winery, Rio Grande, NJ
This winery is owned and operated by Todd and Kenna Wuerker. I expect that we will be greeted by Todd. We may even get to meet Todd’s legendary father who farmed the land for nearly 50 years and at age 79 is still an avid skier! We will be given 8-9 different wine pours, gourmet chesse and a souvenir glass for the tasting. The tour walks through the vineyard and the winery educating about our history and winemaking process.
THIRD STOP – Natali Vineyards, Cape May Court House, NJ
Alfred Natali is the winemaker and founder of Natali Vineyards. Once a man of Wall Street, Al designed telephone circuits as a network engineer for the brokerage industry. A historian by training, Al was a professor at the City University of New York. His dissertation research in France and Italy introduced him to the dry red wines of the Mediterranean region. Here we will have a private tour of the winery and have a private tasting of 5 different varieties of their wine.
We will depart Natali Vineyards at 5:45 pm sharp for the trip back to the Hotel ML, Mt. Laurel, NJ and expect to arrive at approximately 7:30pm.
